Good news for Nigerians as the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has extended the closing date for the Bank Verification Number (BVN) registration.
The registration exercise will continue till October 31, 2015, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
The deadline had initially been set for today Tuesday, June 30 leading many customersto besiege banks as the date drew near.
Many had earlier urged the CBN to review the deadline but the apex bank's Director of Corporate Communications, Ibrahim Mu’azu reportedly said that no extension would be granted as sufficient time had been given for registration.
About 14 million Nigerians are said to have already registered for their BVNs.
